Wine
Higher Plane Syrah is a cooler climate expression of the Shiraz grown at the organic estate vineyard in Karridale, Margaret River. It is a blend of hand and machine harvested fruit.
The hand harvested portion is whole bunch fermented in open fermenters using a mix of wild and inoculated yeasts. The remaining fruit is sorted, inoculated with yeast and open fermented.
After 5-10 days on skins the wine is aged in neutral French oak, softening the tannins without introducing overt oak characters.
Vivid red purple, Higher Plane Syrah is medium bodied with abundant juicy blue and purple berry flavours and a slippery texture. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
